Glenfarclas Family Cask Trunk (1954-2003)
Glenfarclas Family Cask Trunk (1954-2003)
The Glenfarclas Family Cask Trunk is a rare and unique collector's item, as only 60 units were produced at the distillery, with many of the included vintage whiskies no longer being available today. One of those 60 units is right here in Hamilton, New Zealand, waiting to go to a good home.
Included in this custom-made cabinet-disguised-as-a-travel-trunk are fifty 200mL bottles, sampling every single Glenfarclas Family Cask vintage from 1954 to 2003.
Furthermore, this collection includes 4 tumblers, 4 nosing glasses, and a water jug all crafted from the finest crystal by famed Scottish glass manufacturer Glencairn; 4 slate coasters; 3 hand-printed and bound leather books – one containing the history of the distillery, one containing George Grant's tasting notes for each vintage and a third destined to hold your own tasting notes – and a replica of the oldest known painting of the distillery, the original of which hangs in the Glenfarclas Private Dining Room.
For a modest $170,000, you could be one of the 60 lucky owners worldwide! With the way some of the trunks have sold for over $200,000 around the world, this collector's item could even be thought of as a unique investment.
