Douglas Laing's 'Provenance' label represents the entry level in their portfolio, made up of younger malts bottled at 46% and non chill filtered. It should be noted these are often (though not always) single cask selections that show a degree of individuality at an early age. In this case, it's a Glen Elgin from a refill hogshead yielding 359 bottles. The distillery behind the very successful White Horse blends is normally offered as a 12 year old and only occasionally as part of Diageo's Special Releases (2008 and 2017). In this edition, expect a fresh, grassy, apply nose with a sweet palate of clotted cream, warming oak, runny honey and toffee balanced by citrus peels.
